Dena Hixon
Introducing Dena Hixon, Property Manager at Workspace Property Trust, who joined the company in September 2024 to oversee our Phoenix, Arizona portfolio. With over 25 years of experience spanning Class “A” commercial, retail, and industrial property management, she brings deep industry expertise and a strong track record in operational excellence.
Prior to joining Workspace, Mrs. Hixon worked with Transwestern, where she managed a Class “A” commercial building in downtown Phoenix. Her extensive background and commitment to delivering top-tier service make her an invaluable part of our growing team in the Southwest.
One of Dena’s proudest moments was going above and beyond to help a particularly challenging tenant. The tenant had several concerns and requested support on-site. Dena was asked to walk the space with them and provide solutions.
Thanks to her quick thinking and creativity, she proposed thoughtful updates—ranging from refreshed landscaping and parking lot improvements to enhancements in the lobby and office space. Dena and her team even brought coffee and donuts to the walkthrough, creating a warm and collaborative environment. The result? A happy tenant, a transformed property, and a proud team moment (Dena even has the photo to prove it!).

“I’ve always loved working with industrial flex portfolios and taking properties from good to great. In my past roles, we’d often make a space beautiful—just in time to hand it off. Joining Workspace gave me something I hadn’t had before: a place to grow with the properties and the people long-term. I’ve found my home here forever, and I genuinely love the team I get to work with every day. Being present, hands-on, and part of something lasting has been incredibly rewarding."
When Dena’s Not in the Office…
You’ll find her outside! Dena is an adventurer at heart. She once hiked 216 miles from Portugal to Spain, trekked South Dakota’s rugged Black Elk Trail, and was even a marathon runner. These days, she’s trading long races for time on the golf course with her husband.
Her love for the game runs deep—she played baseball, grew up with four brothers (since high school didn’t have a girls’ team), earned a spot playing second base, and eventually landed softball scholarships. Fun fact: her brother was drafted to the Seattle Mariners! And yes—she once shot an eagle on the golf course (with a club, not a camera).
