Tips and Tricks for
Navigating Disney World

By Lisa Grace

Navigating Disney can be overwhelming, but Lisa shared five short tips to maximizing your time and making the most of your magical experience.

Disney World

1. The two best times of the year to travel to Disney World that are less expensive and less crowded (there will always be crowds, but these will be the lightest of the year) is September and January. September can still be warm but also chilly, so be prepared to pack for varying weather. January is typically cold, but it can get into the 70s during the day, so plan and be prepared for all types of weather!

2. Plan. Plan. Plan. Sixty days before your trip, your dining reservation window opens, and popular spots fill up fast! Reservations become available at 6:00 AM sharp within the My Disney Experience app, so I recommend being ready by 5:55 AM. Book in order of priority since hard-to-get reservations go fast.

3. Disney World offers an “Enchanting Extras Collection” of additional events and activities that you can purchase to enhance your visit, such as private fireworks cruises, animal encounters, and holiday parties in the fall and winter months.

4. Be sure to plan a “rest” day if you plan to go to all four main and/or water parks. They call it Disney tired for a reason! Having a day off to visit Disney Springs or spend an afternoon at the pool is a great way to recharge.

5. If staying “on property,” take advantage of early park entry. This will provide you with significantly fewer wait times for some of the larger attractions that can have extremely long wait times if you were to reach them in the middle of the day. Park hours and early access details can be found in your My Disney Experience App.
